York's famous Christmas Festival sees the streets of this historic Cathedral city transformed into a festive wonderland.   The Festival includes the popular St Nicholas Fair with its traditional, magical chalets and also the Yorkshire Yuletide Village where you'll find local crafts and artisan goodies for Christmas.   Explore Dawgate and Coppergate for inspired gift and stoking filler ideas or find local flavour at York's famous Shambles.

 

Queens Hotel, York**

Situated on the banks of the River Ouse, The Queens Hotel is ideally located for the many shops, restaurants, and is within easy walking distance of York Minister and the National Rail Museum.   Step out of the hotel into a world of history and explore York, from medieval times to modern day.   Very few cities in England are able to boast such an exciting mix of cultures, whether you choose to stroll through the Snickleways of York, take in a gallery or museum, visit the bustling shopping streets or just relax in one of the many wine bars and restaurants.

We depart from Devon to make our way to York, arriving at our hotel before dinner.

After breakfast your day is free to enjoy York Christmas Festival. This 37 day festival includes the popular St Nicholas Fair with its traditional, magical chalets selling locally-made handcrafted gifts. Explore Dawgate and Coppergate for inspired gift and stocking filler ideas or find local flavour at Yorks famous Shambles Market. On Parliament Street cosy up around a log fire and enjoy a hot chocolate or mulled wine and soak up the festive atmosphere. Of course you can also make time to explore some of Yorks great attractions before you head back to the hotel for dinner.
