Then step back in time at romantic Hever Castle, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn where two prayer books inscribed by the King Henry VIII's ill-fated second wife form part of a beautiful historic collection.
In a whitewashed 19th-century property, this lovely hotel opposite the beach is a 5 minute walk from Redoubt Fortress & Military Museum, and a 10 minute walk from Eastbourne Pier. Monday 15th March
We travel to our hotel in Eastbourne with comfort stops on route, arriving later that afternoon with time to settle into your hotel room before dinner is served that evening.
DTuesday 16th March
After a leisurely breakfast we visit Hever Castle to experience 700 years of history at the romantic double-moated castle, once the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. The splendid rooms contain fine furniture, tapestries, antiques, an important collection of Tudor paintings and two prayer books inscribed and signed by Anne Boleyn herself. It's Dazzling Daffodil week, so look forward to beautiful banks of daffodil. After a day at this historical castle we return to the hotel in time for dinner.A soup and sandwich lunch is also included today.

After breakfast you have a free day to explore Eastbourne. The hotel is situated on the award winning seafront and is only a 10 minute walk from Eastbourne's Victorian Pier which has a variety of shops, a chip shop, waterfront cafe & bars and a Victorian tea room and more. Also only a short distance from the hotel is the Redoubt Fortress, one of the South Coast's most historic landmarks with over 200 years of unique history. For those of you who enjoy gardening then a visit to the colourful Carpet Gardens is well worth a visit with its bright flower beds which have been a tradition since 1880.
D, FEThursday 18th March
We travel to Brighton today, starting with a visit to the British Airways i360 - 162 metre observation tower which is situated on the seafront. As you gently glide up 450 ft in the spacious glass viewing pod experience 360 degree views of Brighton and the expansive stretch of coastline all the way from Seven Sisters cliffs to the Isle of Wight. The rest of the day is your own to explore the seaside town, wander through The Lanes, a shopper's paradise of independant shops and boutiques. For those looking for something cultured then visit the Royal Pavilion with its colourful history stretching back over 200 years and originally built as a seaside pleasure palace for King George IV.

After a full English breakfast, we return home to Devon.
